Frog and Holster ID?

In a lot of WWII vintage '39 pattern leather pouches and belt I recently purchased there were a couple of extra bits included. A nice 1940 dated, broad arrow marked leather rifle sling and these two pieces

The holster looks to me like a modified French 1892 Lebel Revolver Holster (the simplified sort) but which has had the cartridge holder section cut out.

The bayonet frog is not like any I can think of. It is very high quality thick leather with a great shine and patina, and is very stiff. It too seems to have been modified by cutting a small chunk out of one side (perhaps for a scabbard mount although it would seem to be in the wrong place. Does anyone recognize it?

The frog will fit a 2 1/2 inch (6cm) belt.

Both pieces are devoid of any markings.

That's because it's not a bayonet frog (although they can be found modified to work as such) - it's for carrying a pair of small pliers:

Ah... well that is a bonus - thanks very much!

Now to find the pliers!

Was it designed to fit on the Pattern '14 equipment belt? Or '03 belt? I haven't tried but I am not sure it will fit on an 08 belt.

Thanks again

Chris
