Gareth Davies Posted 19 August , 2017 Share Posted 19 August , 2017 Great to see Damon II (aka Fray Bentos) out of the farm buildings.
JVB Posted 19 August , 2017 Author Share Posted 19 August , 2017 still "some" work to do, but ready enough to commemorate the 72hrs of Fray Bentos on the spot itself on Hill 35 near Gallipoli Farm. In running condition, some sponsor will come to get their promised ride and three families of crewmembers of F41 coming also. Me and Stijn of nearby Pond Farm will stay on the spot and sleep in the tank for 3 days and 2 nights just like the original crew did. We will have it a bit more comfortable to say the least. One can pass by on 22/23 or 23 august during the day ! You can find and follow much more on this tankproject at our facebookpage if you search for "tank Poelkapelle"
Ian Riley Posted 19 August , 2017 Share Posted 19 August , 2017 (edited) Excellent. I saw it just over two weeks ago in Stijn's barn. I nearly fell over when he opened the door. I thought he was being hopeful when he said it would be running 'in a few weeks' but clearly the tank has not been carried out of the barn. Edited 22 August , 2017 by Ian Riley Get it to make sense!
