A Black Cat Squadron helmet?

I had a post similar to this on the Uniforms, arms, insignia area, and was advised I may have better luck here.

There was a BLACK CAT SQUADRON (207 Squadron) a night-bombing unit in existence around the time of the pilot’s documentation. Could this hemet be from that squadron?

Helmet was owned by: Lt. Wood graduated from Central Flying School (Upavon, Wiltshire) August 22, 1917. He was appointed the rank of Lieutenant November 1, 1918.

Does the fact that many WW1 pilots found black cats to be bad luck strengthen the argument that the cat mascot was a squadron designation?
