Training Trenches

Very nice indeed and not an image I have seen before. I does look like a training trench in that it's very neat and clean and in open country without damage. I suspect It's not Salisbury Plain, the soil doesn't look right and there's mature hedgerows in the background that don't look like open chalk downland. The block work on that trench wall facing the camera suggests clay that they expect to harden, like the boulder clays of East Yorks, though again it doesn't look like Holderness.

There where also training trenches at Tenby, South Wales.

Probably not Jay, here's a photo of one of my relatives Howells? (with shovel) in what looks to be a training trench.
