seaJane Posted 20 July , 2017 Share Posted 20 July , 2017 (edited) Someone has just texted me to ask what the bold lower-case m stands for next to a medical officer's name in the Navy List. I think it may be printed black-letter (gothic-looking) and stand for the officer having completed his medical degree, but I'm not sure. As I'm on leave (afloat, appropriately enough) and only have my phone, which doesn't magnify the archive.org screen, so can anyone help? Thank you! sJ Edited 22 November , 2019 by seaJane
alf mcm Posted 20 July , 2017 Share Posted 20 July , 2017 sJ, It stands for 'Medal for War Service', according to a 1917 Navy List. Regards, Alf McM
