Furzefarm Posted 18 July , 2017 Share Posted 18 July , 2017 Lewis was my great grandfather and a lot of his service records survive he had been a soldier pre ww1 and signed up again at the beginning of the war he went to France with the BEF on the 15th September 1914 and returned to the Uk on the 26th November 1914 (75days) he spent the rest of the war working in a munitions factory in Halifax Yorkshire and died of pneumonia in the war hospital in Halifax on the 26th November 1918 and was buried in the military section of Stoneyroyd cemetery in Halifax i had not thought much about this before until I recently found a newspaper extract announcing his wedding with the headline wounded soldiers wedding going on to say he was wounded at Ypres there is nothing in the official papers to say he was wounded is there any way of confirming this? many thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
