DCLI Posted 19 December , 2004 Share Posted 19 December , 2004 I took this pic near Pilkem Ridge at Easter 1984. Does anyone know it, is it named, is it still there and does it have a specifically known history - looks pretty smashed up. Just Imagine what it would be like inside with that sort of explosive force going on against the walls. regards

Aurel Sercu Posted 19 December , 2004 Share Posted 19 December , 2004 Ziegler Bunker. Slaaktestraat Boezinge. 1 mile northwest of Pilkem. Captured by the French on 31 July 1917. Later converted by the R.E. It is described in Major & Mrs. Holt's "Ypres Salient", and I'm sure it has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum. "Search" facility should enable to find it I hope.
