IPT Posted 6 July , 2017 Share Posted 6 July , 2017 Oddly enough, I can only find one contemporary reference to it (Dundee Courier - 26/7/1916); The "Jellicoe Express," as the sailors pleasantly and dutifully styled the extra fast train which carried them either way in the Highlands, was always one of the jolliest of specials to travel with. It traversed a wonderful country, especially after Invergordon the wild grandeur of Invershin forming a fitting gateway to the gorgeous mountain scenery of Sutherland"
mbriscoe Posted 24 September , 2018 Share Posted 24 September , 2018 (edited) Managed to spot one at last, in Kingussie, there is an article about them here. Dingwall Station already has this plaque. Dalwhinnie had a bit more important visitor in WWII. They should have incorporated into a mural at Invergordon.
