John_Hartley Posted 6 July , 2017 Share Posted 6 July , 2017 The battalion history records that, on the 8th, they occupied Conrad & Collin trenches south of Gavrelles. That day they carried out a partly successful raid on the enemy , taking three prisoners but losing 4 killed, 5 missing and 20 wounded. A second successful raid was undertaken on the night of 16/17th where 2 machine guns were captured, 4 priosner staken and severla dugouts and saps blown in. Six killed, 27 wounded. There will obviously be more detail and detail on the other days in the war diary which is available on Ancestry and for download from the National Archives website.
