For anyone intending to attend the reburial at Warlencourt British Cemetery it is worth noting the last paragraph from the CWGC.

From CWGC Website

A full ceremonial burial will be held for Private Henry Parker 3183, 5th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment at 1100 hours on Wednesday 17 May 2017 at CWGC Warlencourt British Cemetery, France with 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment providing support. Private Parker was 22 years old when he was killed in action on 26 September 1916 when his battalion was engaged in an attack on enemy trenches near to Martinpuich, France.

Military insignia recovered with Private Parker’s remains enabled the Ministry of Defence’s JCCC to trace the soldier’s nearest living relatives and determine his identity via the use of DNA. The service has been organised by JCCC and will be attended by family members, British Defence Staff, regimental representatives and local dignitaries. The CWGC will be providing the headstone.

As access to the cemetery will be controlled on the day of the burial, it is essential that anyone wishing to attend the service should contact JCCC in the first instance (Tel: 01452 712612 Ext 6082/Ext 7330).

We have also received the following from the JCCC;

• There will be a diversion in place from 0900 on the morning of the 17th in front of the cemetery. There will be barriers in place and a police control.
• From 0900. the only cars allowed to pass will be those whose passengers all hold nominative invitations and corresponding identification. For the official invitees, we will need to provide the French authorities with an example of this invitation, as well as the name, DOB, POB and ID number of all participants. Official invitees can park outside the cemetery on the main road (the D929). After the ceremony, this invitation will also allow official invitees to park on the road in front of the Salle des Fêtes for the drinks reception.
• For the members of the public who are interested in attending, they can contact the Mayor who will issue an invitation. He will collect their data and pass it on to the relevant authorities. This invitation will allow them to pass the road barriers and park in front of the cemetery. It will not grant them access to the Salle des Fêtes. Any members of public interested in attending the burial from the UK should contact JCCC to pass on the afore-mentioned details.
• The road block and diversion will cease at 1300.

It does look as though the D929 from Bapaume to Albert will be closed between 9.00am and 1.00pm

Regards

John
