Thomas JENKINSON, Royal Field Artillery L/2444

Whilst researching my family history I have noticed a missing Thomas JENKINSON.

Here is a Medal Index Card.

 

 

This Thomas was Killed on 2nd June 1917

There are no clues to be found on either his grave report card or headstone details.

Again I am looking for a date of birth.

The effects list shows the monies were paid to his widow Alice.

SDGW shows he was born in Liverpool.

The Thomas JENKINSON I am looking for was from Liverpool and born in 1891. His Mothers maiden name was SMITH.

He was from a Carting family so would have been good with horses and wagons. Or at least had expirience of matters horse related.

 

I was not expecting him to have had a wife, so I am not sure I am on the right track.

On the 1911 census, this man may be the 26 year old paviour, living at 29 Miller St Liverpool, Toxteth Park, with wife Alice, and two children in the home of his father in law, Joseph Freeman and his family.

I know that the family were living at  44 Midghall Street, Liverpool. in 1901.

So case closed.

His number ties in with joining 148th Brigade RFA around February 20, 1915. 148th Brigade RFA disembarked at Havre on November 29, 1915 but the MICs can sometimes be a day or two out.

I can see now that they are not the same person but it is good to remember them. I am interested in 1th 19 year old below.
