To date the ID bracelet - Clement Arthur Webster was promoted Capt. on 1 April 1915 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/29315/supplement/9753

He was a Territorial Army Officer and continued to serve after the Great War. As a Major (promoted to substantive Major on 16 May 1926) he received the Territorial Decoration [T.D.] in the gazette of 4 February 1930 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/33576/page/729 (the heading is on page 728). Contrary to the content of the obit posted by Simon in post #10 he retired on 31 August 1948 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/39080/supplement/6002

  • 9 months later...

Dr. C.Arthur Webster was a neighbour and  lifelong friend of my father, Stanley Withers from when they lived in Upper Chorlton Road, Stretford,Manchester. at 216 and 260 respectively.

He remained in General Practice in the Chorlton/Whalley Range area long after the usual retirement age and  delivered my first child in 1954 and signed my fathers death Certificate in 1963. He and Dad shared many memories about their time at Gallipoli ( Dad was there with the KRRC).

Uncle Arthur, as he was known to me and my siblings,  he also showed  us stories he had written and published about his other Military experiences including  time spent in Egypt.

I was astonished to see that the  Military Service Record  on Pink Card reproduced above is written in exactly the same hand writing as that on the  Pink Card relating to my Dad.

Amazing coincidence!
