JMB1943 Posted 20 April , 2017 Share Posted 20 April , 2017 I have very recently come across, on GWF, the official Australian instructions to a Light Horse regiment that lists all the equipment etc to be taken overseas. The very first section is for small-arms and details the exact number of rifles/bayonets/scabbards/Webleys. Cannot find it today, but I recall that the header of this particular section is "Weedon Department". I have seen reference to "Weedon Repair Standard" and I know that this refers to former Ordnance Depot at Weedon, Northants. But, what is the context in this Australian document ? Would it imply that only those small-arms that have been inspected by an armourer and passed fit for service could be taken ? Regards, JMB
