Gareth Davies Posted 9 April , 2017 Share Posted 9 April , 2017 I am trying to find out a little more about the 2nd HAC's time in and around Mory in the period 30 Mar - 3 Apr 1917. I have the War Diary but that gives precious little away. Can some kind soul point me in the direction of some accounts of their actions?
rflory Posted 9 April , 2017 Share Posted 9 April , 2017 Pages 306 to 307 of The Honourable Artillery Company in the Great War 1914-1919 has a few paragraphs on the actions on 30 Mar to 3 Apr 1917.

michaeldr Posted 12 April , 2017 Share Posted 12 April , 2017 Gareth, It may be some time before Dick (in California) sees your request, so here are a couple of quick scans of 306/7 from my p/b edition regards Michael

The Official History (1917 volume 1 p165-6) also describes the activities of 7 Div in the attack on Ecoust although it doesn't mention 2HAC specifically. There may also be something in Lambert's 'Over the Top: A 'PBI' in the HAC' - don't have a copy to hand but can have a look later. Gareth Davies Posted 12 April , 2017 Author Share Posted 12 April , 2017 It does indeed APF but it only covers the actions of 20 and 91 Bde, not 22 Bde (which is the HAC's Bde). Any further detail would be much appreciated but the extract from the HAC History that Michale kindly posted has been a great help.

Charles M Charles - are you sure? Pollard was serving with 1 HAC in April 1917 - he won his VC at Gavrelle during the RN Division actions there. Lambert served with 2 HAC but 'Over the Top' starts with the Btn in the Ypres Salient so later in the year.
Gareth Davies Posted 21 April , 2017 Author Share Posted 21 April , 2017 Pollard was indeed with the 1st Bn in Apr 17.
