Guest Galatea Posted 16 December , 2004 Share Posted 16 December , 2004 A friend and myself recently visited Scarborough to find venues for our naval organisations next reunion. Each 6 monthly reunion we lay a wreath at the memorial accompanied by some local veterans of the RN/RM. The memorial in Scarborough must be one of the most dramatic I have seen, situated high above the South Shore it commands panoramic views over the harbour and is comprehensive in naming all the towns casualties from the Great War to the present date including the civilian casualties from the bombardments and other enemy action.
