Andrew P Posted 16 December , 2004 Share Posted 16 December , 2004 The 18th of December 1914 makes the date of the first Fremantle fatality of World War One.Most from Fremantle served in the Australian forces but 22 year old George Wheaton was killed while serving in the 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment.No.8770 - Private George Wheaton - Le Touret Memorial France - Age 22 - Lived 166 Sewell St East Fremantle - Son of Archelaus John & Mary Wheaton of same address.The first of 699 Fremantle residents to lose their life in this war.RIP Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
