Pte? John Taylor Hardy - Regiment unknown

Can anyone tell what cap badge this is? I'm struggling to find any information on him at all.  He went by the name of Jack and returned from the war with 'Trench Fever' so the family tell me.

 

I would be grateful for any assistance.

Looks like standard Northumberland Fusiliers to me.

There are over 200 j taylors' listed on FMP so where he was from and dob would be helpful

I think the surname is HARDY from the topic title, with forenames John/Jack Taylor, but your point about more info is well made!
