Peselhoek

Could anyone please tell me exactly where Peselhoek is. It is a place near Ypres which had a railway station during the Great War.

There is a 'Peselhoek' in Poperinge (=Poperinghe). There was an airfield in that area during the great war. Poperinge is situated at +/- 12 km from Ypres.

The idea of it being in Poperinghe fits with the context. I am trying to follow locations in the War Diary of the Third Battalion of the Tank Corps and this is where they loaded their tanks to move south when their role in Third Ypres was finished.

Simon,

Poperinghe had a railway station linked also to the french railway system (south). Nowadays the station is only linked to the belgian railways.

Thanks for the information Gilbert. That makes sense as the tanks were being put on the train at Peslehoek to be taken to France.
