Mr Training Posted 10 March , 2017 Share Posted 10 March , 2017 Can anybody assist with this location. Appears to be a pre-war volunteer camp. Sand dunes in foreground. A river seemingly in the distance. A key identifying feature is the odd looking tower/building on the right of the picture. Looks like a lighthouse Tower Beacon rather than chimney? Mr Training Posted 11 March , 2017 Author Share Posted 11 March , 2017 Hi - yes I did pick up Leasowe as a possible location. Searching on light house beacons picked it up. I couldnt quite match the actual tower to any images tho.
Moonraker Posted 11 March , 2017 Share Posted 11 March , 2017 Google "Leasowe Camp 1910" and click on "Images" and you'll get several showing tented camps there. Unfortunately they also show permanent buildings very close to the tower that I can't spot in Mr Training's photo. Doubtless you've come across this website?
