fraser.skirrow Posted 14 December , 2004 Share Posted 14 December , 2004 On 20th November 1917 185 Brigade attacked the village of Havrincourt. The 2/5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment attacked up the east side of the village. They were supposed to be supported by Tanks of G Battalion but they advanced most of the way without them. The war diaries talk about being "supported by tanks left over from the first objective" and getting support from other tanks that they met as they advanced. This is all pretty vague but does anyone know about any tanks operating between Havrincourt and Ribecourt thank morning that might have strayed over to help ?
