Paul Nixon Posted 14 December , 2004 Share Posted 14 December , 2004 I recently learned, through posts on this forum, that under a POW exchange arrangement with Germany, British soldiers who had been captured and were no longer fit for war service, were returned to the UK. I believe they landed back in Blighty on 17th Feb 1915 and the story was subsequently covered in The Times on (I think) the 19th Feb. Other papers also carried the story. The Times article included a list of British soldiers who had been repatriated. One of the soldiers I have been researching certainly appears in that list and there may be others too. OK, here's the request. Does anybody have a transcript of the list of names they could send me or can point me in the direction where I can obtain them? Colindale Newspaper library is obvious of course but as I am not based in the UK I am hoping somebody out there can assist in a more practical matter. Thanks in advance.
