Petroc Posted 18 February , 2017 Share Posted 18 February , 2017 Hi all, Back on the Somme again in a few of weeks, for the first time since 2014. We seem to have rather tight schedule this year, so would be grateful if anyone could provide info on the following; 1) Are there likely to be any mini-market type shops open in Albert on a Sunday morning (in order to buy some bread, ham, cheese, beer, etc) for picnic lunch on our walk of the Gommecourt sector? 2) Any bar likely to be showing the England-Scotland Six Nations match? Normally in the past we have relied on the Three Pigeons for this, but have usually established beforehand whether Thierry (is he still the landlord?) is showing the games; this year we have less time and we'd rather not just turn up for a pint and expect him to immediately put the telly on for us! Many thanks, Andy
zippy.72 Posted 26 February , 2017 Share Posted 26 February , 2017 The big supermarkets are open Sunday mornings. I use the one down from Mcdonalds. An Lidl has also opened on the same road. Not sure about the second question. You could try the Corner Pub near the centre.
