SNIPER IN THE 6th DORSETS

I am new to this Site so forgive me if this is not done correctly but I have a problem.

Can any body please help regards finding more about my Grandad as I can not find him born date or place as I have conflicting Certificates regarding his name and age i.e according to his Marriage Certificate Reg/District Abresford Parish of Brown Candover County Hants dated 2nd Jan 1915 he was FREDERICK THOMAS ABRAHAM age 26 Game Keeper Private in the 6th Dorsets and his father was CHARLES ABRAHAM.= Born 1889

On his Death Certificate dated 5th Jan 1954 he was THOMAS FREDERICK age 68 Retired Game Keeper.= Born 1886

According to my mother who is still alive her dad's birthday was 3rd June well that is when he celebrated it.

Also read about the 6th Dorsets but nothing about Sniper's found perhaps someone can also point me in the right direction please.
