Desmond7 Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 Not as a formed unit - according to main site. Why do you ask Tom? Do you think elements of 5th RDF were deployed as casulaty replacements for other btns? Just intrigued. Des
museumtom Posted 11 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 11 December , 2004 I have seen for sale a piece of militaria unit marked to the 5th Bn Royal Dublin fusiliers from a source close to Turkey. It has a manufacture date of may 1915. was just wondering if it may have been from the conflict. If the 5th Bn were there then it may have been from them. regards. Tom. Terry_Reeves Posted 11 December , 2004 Share Posted 11 December , 2004 5 RDF were the Extra Reserve Bn, and never left the UK. However it is possible that they did provide reinforcments for Ist Bn in Gallipoli. Terry Reeves
