unitedsound Posted 26 November , 2016 Share Posted 26 November , 2016 Can anyone help identify this location? The era is possibly first half of 1915. The chap seated with the 'pencil mark' in front of his feet should be my neighbour's GrandFather named Joseph McMillan. Joseph fought under the colours in the Boer War and became a Reservist after 8 years. During both terms he appears to have been with 1st Battalion HLI. He was awarded the silver badge at Hamilton Barracks on 23/11/16 for wounds received before he left the service in August 1915. Joseph died in 1930 and his widow described him as having a large scar from the front of his forehead all the way to the back. My second question relates to his uniform in the photograph. Is this an HLI uniform? Thanks in anticipation David
