The Scorer Posted 24 November , 2016 Share Posted 24 November , 2016 This is a project being run by the School of History, Archaeology and Religion at Cardiff University, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It aims to provide a web site where those interested in the First World War and in the History and Archaeology of Egypt and Palestine can go to see images of how those regions looked during the First World War. Dr Steve Mills, Professor Paul Nicholson and Mrs Hilary Rees gave a talk to the Gwent Branch of the WFA (of which Hillary is the Secretary) last night, and it was very interesting. They're looking for images of any subject relating to that period, whether strictly military or just the local area. They've found that there was a lot of "private" photography in that area during the First World War, although any images will be of interest. More details can be found on their web site at http://sites.cardiff.ac.uk/ww1imagesegypt/ or by e-mailing them at ww1imagesegypt@cardiff.ac.uk.
