Hi,

I am researching my Great Grandfather Frank Eric Wall. He joined the 8th Battalion Post Office Rifles, deemed to have enlisted 14/03/18 at 18 and called up for service 20/06/18. Service Number 376541. At some point his service number changed to 63612 and he was posted to 5th Battalion sometime in 1919. I have some of his service record from Collection WO363 but unsure as to whether they are complete and if he actually went to France? My Grandmother remembers him talking about France but there is nothing in his records (such as they are) that I can find that would suggest this. I can not find any medal records for him either. Does anybody have any idea where I might find any other information on him as I have now drawn a blank, really interested to see if he did actually serve in France. Many thanks and regards.

Papers show no overseas service or medals awarded nor a Medal Index Card present on Ancestry UK.

The second number 63612 was for a transfer to 5 Rifle Brigade at Home.
