delta Posted 5 October , 2016 Share Posted 5 October , 2016 http://blog.nationalarchives.gov.uk/blog/giving-leadership-name-re-cataloguing-wo-374-first-world-war-officers-files/ This may have already been covered but I can't find a thread Good news from the National Archives at Kew about level of detail on WO374 indexing avaibale on Discovery. As some-one who has been mildly frustrated trying to get the correct file for a number of temporary officers who served with the First Tank Crews, I would like to thank the Friends of the National Archives for this most useful work
keithmroberts Posted 6 October , 2016 Share Posted 6 October , 2016 Just seen this - a boon indeed. I remember ordering up 11 files in the search for my great Uncle, his was the 10th that I opened. I have had a similar experience with other officers more recently so this is a considerable improvement and a credit to the volunteers who did the work Keith
rolt968 Posted 6 October , 2016 Share Posted 6 October , 2016 My apologies everyone. This information came to Friends of the National Archives a few weeks ago. I believe it is the result of the work of volunteer Friends. At the time I thought it had been publicised. Roger M
