Tam Posted 6 December , 2004 Share Posted 6 December , 2004 Andy, thank you very much for your information and your prompt reply. I only found out about Uncle Jim about 2 weeks ago and have gotten really hooked on finding out about his time in the trenches. I have looked at the Long Long Trail site and have found it very interesting. May I ask another question? My family. then as now, comes from East Lothian and Berwickshire. How did Jim end up in a Highland Regiment from the north of Scotland? I would have thought that when joined up he would have been sent to a local regiment like the Royal Scots or the K.O.S.B.s. Thanks in advance, Tam.
Tam Posted 8 December , 2004 Author Share Posted 8 December , 2004 By reading other posts I`ve learned that the SDGW gives details of when and where soldiers enlisted. I would be very grateful to anyone who can supply this information on the above Private. Thanks in advance, Tam.
