Paul Reed Posted 4 December , 2004 Share Posted 4 December , 2004 Can anyone tell me if any Transport Ships were lost on 21st November 1917? I am researching an ASC draft who lost a man on this day who is commemorated on the Hollybrook Memorial. Any leads will be gratefully receieved or links to websites. Terry Denham Posted 4 December , 2004 Share Posted 4 December , 2004 'Aros Castle' torpedoed 21.11.17 300 miles from Bishop Rock. 4,460 tons. Looks like she was a cargo vessel though.
Terry_Reeves Posted 4 December , 2004 Share Posted 4 December , 2004 Paul One ship appears to have been lost on that date: ss Aros Castle sunk off Bishop Rock by a U boat with the loss of two lives. She was sailing from London to Baltimore in ballast. ss Breynton was torpedoed in St George's Channel but made port safely. Terry Reeves
