trajan Posted 2 July , 2016 Share Posted 2 July , 2016 Great photograph in the Gurniard today of a group of 'pals' who "had just arrived in La Bassee, May 1916" when photographed, the majority, if not all, certainly with HQ's! https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/01/heavy-casualties-wounded-wounded-wounded-readers-stories-of-the-battle-of-the-somme#img-
mancpal Posted 2 July , 2016 Share Posted 2 July , 2016 Thanks for highlighting this article. I particularly like the the detail of the camera attached to the aircraft as although Ive no great personal knowledge of aerial photography I do find it quite fascinating. As a person who can use an auto focus camera and still achieve a blurred image I take my hat off to those who achieved such excellent results whilst flying a plane with their other hand so to speak.
