Jack Sheldon Posted 1 July , 2016 Share Posted 1 July , 2016 As part of the commemoration of the battle, the Irish radio station 'Newstalk' is devoting its Sunday evening programme, 'Talking History', on 3 July to the subject. Hosted by Professor Patrick Geoghegan and featuring amongst others, Professor Sir Hew Strachan, Matthius Strohn and me, it aims to provide context, analysis and interpretation which reflects modern scholarship, so there will be a total absence of 'Lions', 'Donkeys', 'Futility' and 'War Poets'. Irish pals can listen in on 106-108 FM; others interested will have to go for the streamed broadcast or podcast on www.newstalk.com , searching 'Shows'.
