Thursday 30 June - Battle of the Somme Vigil - Service commences at 21-00hrs. prior to that musical entertainment and guided walks from 19-30hrs Free entry Friday 1 July - Battle of the Somme Remembrance service - link to Thiepval from 11-30hrs. . Assemble 10-30hrs, service commences 10-45hrs Free entry Both of the above will be very busy and there is also building work on the new visitor centre plus the memorial cannot be accessed. Daily Commemoration - 1 July to 18 November, Somme Above the ground trench installation 1 July - 18 Nov Every Sunday Somme guided walks. Friday 18 November - Sundown on the Somme. Somme 100 - En Masse - 1 July to 18 November - Installation to honour 19,240 soldiers who died on 1st day. Silhouette of soldier can be got for a donation.
