PAB Posted 1 December , 2004 Share Posted 1 December , 2004 I have the memorial plaque for one of the Leonard Caddick's (2 on Commonwealth War Graves). How do I identify the place of manufacture. It has the number 12 between the lion's rear legs and an unreadable mark on the reverse. Many thanks in anticipation. Regards, P.
stiletto_33853 Posted 1 December , 2004 Share Posted 1 December , 2004 Hi P The mark on the back should be a circle with a W within the circle, between the two legs of the W should be a line to make an A. This shows that it was made at Woolwich Arsenal. The 12 either inside or outside the lions leg shows the batch number. Hope this answers your questions.
