When a conscripted soldier had undergone and finished basic training, would they then go on for for corps specialist training?

I know I Should know this but..... if the conscripted soldiers did get specialist training where would the soldiers of the Army Veterinary Corps have gone? I know for a fact thay it was not the Defence Animal Training Regiment (formally the Defence Animal Centre) as we did not have that location until sometime after WWII

Well I just made a ***** of my self. If I had just opened my eyes I would have seen that

Don't suppose you know how I can find out what sort of training they done. I have contacted the Army medical services museum but they are in the process of getting ready to move from keo Barracks to Lichfield

There is apparently an official history of the AVC available as part of the official medical histories but unfortunately it's the only book of the set I don't have a digital copy of.

Craig,

My corps should have this information to hand however everyone I have spoke with seem to not really have any idea what went on with the corps through ww1 answer ww2 and can only tell you how more recent conflicts, the brief history published by the corps or how to train a dog to poop on command.

My plan is to dig up as much as possible and educate the younger soldiers come through. Could you tell me where to get a copy of this book?

I'll see if I can find where I got the other histories from and I might be able to get a digital copy if they have one.
