delta Posted 30 April , 2016 Share Posted 30 April , 2016 I am investigating travelling from London to Cambrai by train. The SNCF website shows it is a reasonably quick and reasonably priced. There is only one change in Lille and the stations appear to be within a short walking distance. Has anyone taken this route and, if so, what are the pitfalls?
sassenach Posted 30 April , 2016 Share Posted 30 April , 2016 The stations in Lille are only a few minutes walk apart, and it's well signposted. The only pitfall I can imagine, and it happened this week, is a strike in France, which could mean no domestic trains running. Otherwise, dead easy. ShirlD Posted 30 April , 2016 Share Posted 30 April , 2016 I have to say the first time we did this journey we were confused by Lille Flandres, trying to get to the Europe station as we confused that with Lille Euro, a huge shopping mall! But then we are not used to large city rail stations, coming from the bush. ..... Cheers Shirley
