Hi

I've just printed off the MIC for my father-in-laws's father who he believes received the Mons star.

Looking at his medal list he has the standard Victory, British and also the 14 Star and another one with the Ref: SW B Lest. (Or at least that's what it looks like)

I've attached the relevent section on the MIC can any one confirm what the above refers is to.

The Mons Star is a popular name for the 1914 Star, which he was awarded. His full entitlement was the 1914 Star, Britiah War & Victory Medals plus a Silver War Badge awarded to personnel discharged as a result of wounds or sickness.

He was a company sergeant with the Queens Regiment. Just out of interest I discovered recently that my grandfather was wounded and discharged he received the 15 star but not the Silver war badge is there a reason for that?

Sounds like a split MIC to me. Go to the on-line system and just put in his number and see what comes up.

Failing that it could be that he did not apply for a badge.
