Remembered Today:

Wound Strips

Thought this had been covered before but couldn't pull anything up through a search.

Wound strips-obviously awarded for gunshot, shrapnel, bayonet wounds etc inflicted by the enemy. But would they be awarded for similar wounds suffered during training or of illness/disease suffered on active service ie trench foot, dysentery etc.

Thanks,

Jim

It has been covered several times before (try "wound stripes" with an "e"!). But ,in answer to your question, no, they had to be caused somehow "by enemy action".

Dave.
