Thank you for the info sent. I have now found a book 'Before the Echoes Die Away' which is very comprehensive regarding the 3rd South Birmingham Brigade RFA in WW1

Hi There,

Im researching my Grandfather who I have found records, fought with the 242nd Army Brigade, or 242nd Brigade Army. Is like any there brigade or does the addition of the word Army have significance ? Appreciate any thoughts

Hi David, the LLT has a very clear explanation regarding the difference between Brigades and Army Brigades concerning the RFA at https://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/regiments-and-corps/the-royal-artillery-in-the-first-world-war/batteries-and-brigades-of-the-royal-field-artillery/
