Admin spof Posted 4 July , 2018 Admin Share Posted 4 July , 2018 Apparenty, Middle Parts was originally a privately published, limited run for his friends. It was so well received that they convinced him to publicly publish it. To do that, he had to remove the swearing - at least the F word and possibly an occurrence or 2 of the C word. As the text had changed, he gave it a new title both of which are from Shakespeare.
pierssc Posted 3 August , 2018 Share Posted 3 August , 2018 (edited) Thank you for posting this Maureen; I hadn't come across this book before, but downloaded it following your post coming to the surface again recently and have almost finished reading it. It is fascinating, well ahead of its time and throws a lot of light on all that seemingly aimless marching around one reads about in official war diaries. Edited 3 August , 2018 by pierssc Clarification as to how long it is taking me to read it!
