GuyGirardet Posted 25 March , 2016 Share Posted 25 March , 2016 On Sunday 29, and Monday 30 May 2016, St. Peter’s will hold a WWI centenary event to remember the prisoners, from many nations, who were transferred to Switzerland for internment under the auspices of the Red Cross (ICRC). We will also commemorate the first contingent of 700 British prisoners of war, who arrived in Château d’Oex on 30 May 1916. We are looking for personal history of soldiers interned in Switzerland. If any of your descendants, or relatives were interned, please get in touch, email: stpeterschateaudoex@gmail.com More information on this event, including lots of background history, is available from: http://stpeters.ch/ww1-centenary-event-29-may-2016/
