Guest tirediron Posted 27 November , 2004 Share Posted 27 November , 2004 I am wondering if anyone can point me to a location (if such exists) where I might find further information on a member of the RNR serving during WWI?
RNCVR Posted 27 November , 2004 Share Posted 27 November , 2004 tirediron, RNR Service records for RNR ratings that served between 1914-1958 are held in the PRO & are on microfiche in the microfilm reading room in RT 377/7. Some of the records also record service prior to WWI. Apparently the originals of these SR's are also held at the FAA museum in Yeovilton. Guest tirediron Posted 27 November , 2004 Share Posted 27 November , 2004 Hi, thanks for the quick response. Could you define "PRO" please?
Jonathan Saunders Posted 28 November , 2004 Share Posted 28 November , 2004 Hi, thanks for the quick response. Could you define "PRO" please? BY "PRO" RNCVR meant Public Record Office (now renamed The National Archives - "TNA") at Kew. The Archives at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovil also hold a lot of RND records, including service records.
