CWGC added the following casualty to the WW1 War Dead Roll today.

MORRIS, Joseph

Air Mechanic I 14326

Royal Air Force, 57 Sqdn.

Died 09.12.18 Age 26

Commemorated: United Kingdom Book of Remembrance

NOT FORGOTTEN

The above was an In From the Cold Project case:

- AM.I Morris died of pneumonia (Volunteer: Amanda Taylor)

Well done Amanda.

Joseph was formerly Pte 4578 in RWF. His MIC shows him as going over to France 27 12 1914. He is on a 2nd Bn RWF wounded casualty list in the Times dated 23 10 1915. Given his year of birth (1890) I'd lean towards him being a Special Reserve man (plus his Air Record shows 3rd RWF) in which case he enlisted towards end Feb 1912.
