The British War and Victory Medal roll states "Att. Signal Service" and shows Theatre of War 6b. The 1914/15 Star roll shows 4a. Coldstreamer Posted 28 February , 2016 Share Posted 28 February , 2016 not specifically on him but I have seen a few Coldstream Guards serving in Africa both during and pre WW1. They probably where sent there as had a particular skill (or maybe just no one liked them ) and like your man on attachment have you checked sites such as FMP and ancestry for his papers? bushfighter Posted 28 February , 2016 Share Posted 28 February , 2016 Mousers Greetings Brigade and Divisional HQs plus all the British administrative HQs that were established in captured German territory needed signallers, so Britain supplied men on 'extra-regimental postings' to man these posts.
