derekb Posted 14 February , 2016 Share Posted 14 February , 2016 This morning I picked up a nice "18 PR II" Shell case. I have managed to interpret most of the marks but would appreciate some help with to identify the manufacturer, whose initials are "CYK", the shell case has a Broad Arrow within the letter "C" which I believe denotes Canadian manufacture. Thanks and regards, Derek. Sorry for the "ponder" - that's what I'm doing.
Knotty Posted 15 February , 2016 Share Posted 15 February , 2016 You are correct with the "C" being Canadian in manufacture, but the "CYK" is proving elusive. As far as I can make out the main supplier of the CEF was a company called Canadian Explosives Company Ltd using the stamp "CXL" , it's a case of keep searching.
