Unfortunately there are a fair number of errors in the book.

Also available here and elsewhere:-

Another more accurate book which lists pipers of the Scottish and iIish regiments who gave their lives, the e-book, 'Floo'ers O' The Forest : Fallen Pipers of the Great War', by Richard H Crawford and published by Duntroon Publishing (the late P/M Bruce Campbell) is worth getting.

Unfortunately it only lists those pipers who were in such regiments per se, and does not for instance include pipers from the likes of the RAMC, Royal Artillery or 'English' regiments which had Pipes & Drums.

By coincidence, last night I came across yet another error in that book. Mentioned that Pipe Major JC Purdie had died in the war. He didn't. In fact he lived until 1975 !

That's the second error I've found during just the past week. In another, it records that a certain piper of the KOSB had been killed-in-action in April 1917. He wasn't.
