T4 Prefix to Army Service Corps Army No

Grandfather Driver Harold Arthur Ridge ASC he served in France and Macedonia. He has a number T4/109775 does this mean anything to anyone? Going to be hard to trace his activities

Grandad doesn't have the 14 or 15 stars on his MIC so I assume he must have joined in 1916 or after, have you any idea of the date he might have enlisted from the number?

Supply: I think the ASC were the Workhorse of the Army

MT being Motor Transport & there are other ASC Prefixes,such as CMT ,CHT,RTS;Etc;~ Search the Site & see if you Can ID them! :)

Supply was SS. Men with the prefix S such as S1 to S4 were butchers, bakers and cooks.

IDIOT!! S is supply, SS Supply Specialists - too much vino this evening!!

A lot of S1 - S4s I have come across were bakers, butchers, but no candel stick makers I'm afraid!
