webley mark vi

Well, whilst not a revolver expert - as far as I can see these are identical to the makings on my 1918 Webley. (I can't read the date on yours but it appears to be 1917?)

The other marks --

Broad Arrow (on various components) - British acceptance mark.

Crown/GR/crossed pennants - British proof marks (on barrel and cylinder)

Crown/E(or B etc) are inspection stamps E= Enfield B (script) = BSA etc (on various components)

All of these are essentially saying that the revolver/components have been inspected and found to meet the standards required and accepted for military service.

If unit marked this is often done on the frame backstrap of the butt.

Hope this helps until an expert comes along.

Chris
