Memorial identification

Does anyone have any idea where this memorial is? It's likely be in India, Pakistan, or Sudan - I thought probably Karachi, but the description of Karachi WW1 memorial on the CWGC site doesn't sound quite like this. This photo is pre WW2.

Thanks - Sue

This doesn't appear to be a CWGC memorial. Unlikely to have a cross on top (especially in Indian subcontinent) and a clock would be a unique feature (if that is a clock on the front)!

Looks more like part of a religious establishment.

No, I don't think that it's a clock - a scan of that bit below. The wording on the curve to the left of the 'clock' is just visible at high resolution and starts:

'To the Greater Glory...'

Thankyou for the link - it's a fascinating site. When you seen headings like 'Church of Scotland burials in Assam', you can tell you're in for something out of the ordinary. However, they seem a bit coy about giving contact details. I'll put the photos on a web page and then try the Rootsweb India list - I'm sure that most of them must hang out there.
