MGC on Long trail

Hi

I noticed that on the 'Long trails' list of original Machine gun Coys there is no mention of the 23rd, 25th or 218th.

All of these, along with the 24th (which is mentioned) later formed the 8 Bn MGC. Do any of you know why they've

been left off the list? Also why 8 Bn MGC is not mentioned in the 8th Divisions order of battle?

Very curious about this as it was my Great Grandfathers Bn.

Oh my Gawd. Thanks for pointing it out. It's nothing more than a complete oversight on my part when I created that page many moons ago. I'll fix it asap.

185 & 187 MG Coys are also missing!

My grandfather-in-law served with 185 from 1916-1920.

Problem is that they served with the Indian Army and I suspect some of the gaps around those numbers are for the same reasons. There is a book on the Indian Army Division make-ups in the library at Kew.

Thanks all. I should point out it was information I received from 'Vickers' that led me to spot the errant coys.

I look forward to seeing the revised list.

Just thought i would bring this to the top as i just had a look to see if it had been done.

I know Chris is very busy right now and i dont want him to think i'm being pushy but didnt want it to be forgotten.

Regards

Chris
