Guest winstonsmith Posted 22 November , 2004 Share Posted 22 November , 2004 Hi I noticed that on the 'Long trails' list of original Machine gun Coys there is no mention of the 23rd, 25th or 218th. All of these, along with the 24th (which is mentioned) later formed the 8 Bn MGC. Do any of you know why they've been left off the list? Also why 8 Bn MGC is not mentioned in the 8th Divisions order of battle? Very curious about this as it was my Great Grandfathers Bn. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Problem is that they served with the Indian Army and I suspect some of the gaps around those numbers are for the same reasons.
